QH&M BIRT was engaged for the construction of 72 kilometres of new rail alignment to sub-ballast level, supporting the delivery of critical rail infrastructure.

Project details

Key Features:

220 Ha of clearing and grubbing
200,000m3 of topsoils stripping
2M m3 of engineered embankment placement including general fill, transition layer, sub ballast and basecourse
700,000m3 of drill and blast in alignment cuttings
Construction of surface drains and levees including 20,000m3 of rock protection
Crushing, screening and stabilisation of site won materials to produce compliant fill material
Installation of 8km of CSP culverts
