Project Scope

Construction of a 4.8km haul road (including a 70 m dual-span bridge, drainage infrastructure, and an automated level crossing) to connect South32’s existing Boddington Bauxite Mine haul road network to a new ore deposit at Nullaga, along with pre-development stripping of the mine area — forming part of the wider Boddington Bauxite Mine life extension strategy to maintain bauxite supply to the Worsley Alumina Refinery.

Construction of Mining Haul Road including:
– 110Ha of Clear and Grub
– 235,000m3 of topsoil and unsuitable removal
– 431,000m3 of engineered general fill embankment
– 169,000m3 of Pavement construction from local borrow
– 1km of CSP Drainage Structures
– 2 x Precast Vehicle Underpass Structures
– Various Hardstands and Sedimentation Facilities and;
– Construction of 70m Dual-Span Bridge Structure supported by in ground piles, pile caps and reinforced in-situ concrete abutment walls
