QH&M BIRT was engaged to deliver the major bulk earthworks package for the new Amrun Bauxite Mine, including the placement of more than 4 million cubic metres of engineered fill.

  • Construction of access and servicing roads
  • Construction of heavy vehicle haul roads
  • Construction of engineered truck dump facility including reinforced earth wall
  • Detailed excavation and structural backfill of beneficiation plant
  • Construction of bauxite stockyard and rail transport system to export wharf
  • Construction of 3M m3 tailings storage facility – over 4km of underground service installation
  • Installation of corrugated metal pipe and precast concrete culverts
  • Construction of sedimentation ponds
  • Polymer and cement stabilised bauxite
  • Detailed drainage excavation and;
  • Seeding, hydro-mulching and rehabilitation
